Dr. Eugene Melvin - Medical Director

Dr. Melvin grew up in Central Florida and returned in 1989 to practice medicine. He completed his Internship, Residency in Anesthesia and his Fellowship in Critical and Regional Anesthesia all from the Johns Hopkins Hospital, in Baltimore Maryland, during 1983-1987. He graduated from Medical College of Virginia, Richmond Virginia 1979-1983.

Dr. Melvin currently specializes in Pain Management, defined as a specialty of medicine devoted to the treatment of intervential techniques (nerve blocks, selective epidural blocks, and narcotic infusion devices), emotional, psychological and physical effects of chronic pain.

"Each patient expresses pain in a unique way. By integrating traditional approaches, most patients can obtain a higher quality of life. Management of your treatment plans can be altered by better knowledge of pathophysiology, providing a basis for early and targeted intervention that can dramatically affect outcome for your patients. RMG's approach to differential diagnosis and targeted treatment planning has been of great benefit to my patients and to those clinics I have consulted with."

Dr. Melvin's certifications are as follows:

  • Diplomate, American Board of Anesthesiology with sub-specialty Certification in Pain Management
  • Diplomate, American Board of Pain Medicine
  • Diplomate, American Academy of Pain Management
  • Member of the American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine

As a sought after Lecturer and Speaker Dr. Melvin is demonstrating daily that, "misdiagnoses leads to mistreatment". As Medical Director, he welcomes those who participate with RMG's team and its Multi-Disciplinary approach to medicine.
